Slip of the Tongue

Today while we were doing our daily scripture study (well, I guess it's more nightly), Beth mixed up some of the words. she finished her first turn with:

"...a highly flavored people of the Lord."

We all started laughing about how she had added an l into favored, and when she started sobbing we had to explain to her that we were laughing at the thought of a "highly flavored" people, saying "mmm, I like this people...they taste like chocolate"

In her next turn around:

"Yea, the cry of the windows..."

We all laughed again, and mom had to explain to the once again sobbing Beth that crying windows was funny. Crying widows, on the other hand, are not, but just the idea of crying windows was funny. Dad said it was all poetic...Thomas said something about personification...and I thought of rain streaming down the windows in a thunderstorm.

Oh, Evie is going to have so much fun at your house! You guys are so funny. And you are such a poet. It really does seem like the windows are crying when it rains!

Oh, I miss scripture study at your house!! Give my sweet Beth a big hug and remind her she is a little angel. Thanks for the storytelling sweet Tyra, small family tales are precious.

Oh Tyra, you are a good writer! I really believe you could pen a little book using funny vignettes from everyday life that you observe. You really do have a charming way to tell a tale. I just sent this to my best friend Annie, it's going to make her smile today too!!!
